I finished making what christmas presents I could. I made 10 lap desks, but forgot to take a picture of them..I will try to get one uploaded later to show you. LOL they are all in michigan right now and I am not...

I also made three cakes for friends... A princess, a cell phone, and a cake for a steelers fan.

I have made a couple of baby blankets for friends, but the pictures are not on this computer, so again I will load them later. I am sorry about the delay in posting. I will try to be better, I will probably be hit or miss for at least another month, while we get moved to Michigan and get settled in, but I hope to get started on a few projects soon. Happy Febuary.

Apple Cobbler..Yum

I made a homemade apple cobbler for dinner tonight, and it was wonderful. I thought I would share it with you all. :)  I got the recipe off of an app on my phone, called Big Oven.

 the recipe is :

Southern Apple Cobbler

4 lbs Granny Smith Apples, peeled and sliced
1 tablespoon Lemon Juice

1/2 cup Sugar
2 teaspoons Cinnamon
1 teaspoon Nutmeg
1 teaspoon Dried Lemon Peel, (or fresh lemon zest)

2 cups Flour
1 tablespoon Baking Soda
3 tablespoons Sugar
5 tablespoons Butter (it called for shortening, but I prefer Butter)
3/4 cup Milk

Preheat oven to 425 F. Peel and slice apples, (if you havn't done it yet) Drizzle with Lemon Juice. Mix 1/2 cup Sugar, Cinnamon, Nutmeg and Lemon Peel, toss with apples to coat. Place apples in 9 inch square or round casserole dish.
Mix flour, sugar, and baking powder, cut butter in until it is crumbly. Add milk and stir with a fork until mixed. Form a ball, (I needed to add a little more flour here because the dough was too sticky) and turn onto a lightly floured surface, roll out dough to slightly bigger then the casserole dish, Place dough on top, seal the edges, and cut vents in top of dough. If desired, brush milk, or egg wash over the top and sprinkle with turbinado sugar. ( I used regular cinnamon sugar here, since I amnot sure what the other sugar is... maybe the big sugar?)
Bake in oven at 425 F for 10 minutes, then turn oven down to 350 F and bake another 30-40 minutes until crust is golden brown. Let cobbler set for 10-15 minutes before serving. Enjoy.

C- really enjoyed it :)

The recipe said it served 6, but five of us ate, and we had half of it left, so it will probably feed ten :) I think it would be good with some ice cream as well, but I didn't have any.
Good luck, and let me know if you try it and how it goes.
Happy Baking :D

We all liked it :D

The butt Cake...

I made a cake for a friend yesterday. It made my husband laugh, confused my 6 yr old and was exactly what my friend wanted.. it was a butt birthday cake for her hubby. I think it turned out pretty good, for me not having a butt cake pan, and making it with two loaf pans, and two ball shape cake pans. What do you think? Is it a good butt?

What I have been working on...

Christmas presents. My family decided to do a homemade christmas this year, I have started gifts for a few people, but have many more to do... I am going to be making lapdesks for the kids, using a tutorial I found here. I just have to go get the filling and the wood, I have most of the fabric I will need. I still need to figure out what in the world to make for my dad and my brother-in-laws, Any ideas? I also need to get started on the pillow I will be making my youngest nephew, It is going to be a Cowboy Boot pillow, I think he will like it, I asked his mama, and she thinks so too. :D As soon as I get something finished I will post a picture.
I also need to get started on some holloween costumes for my kidlets, My oldest wants to be Dustin from Prince of Persia, and the girls have not made up their minds yet, we will see what I can talk them into :D. Well that is about it for now so I will be off, Happy Crafting :D

Pumpkin...

I already typed all this and the internet ate my post, so here we go again... LOL
I made my first pumpkin. I love fall and everything to do with it, I love the smells, the holidays that are getting closer, and all of the baking and decorating we get to do with it. I found this great tutorial for making Pumpkin decorations here and decided I was going to try it, so I went to JoAnn's and found an orange remnent (I love remnents) and tried it out this morning, It only took about half an hour to cut, sew, stuff, and tie a ribbon on the pumpkin, so it is easy and fast to do. So what do you think? I think I am going to end up with a whole herd of Pumpkins of different colors and textures... This one I may add some triangle eyes and a pointy toothed mouth to... But I am not sure..
